WE OFFER PARENT AND BABY CLASSES AS WELL AS WORKSHOPS FOR ADULTS
Our workshops are accredited with the Health Professionals Council of South Africa (HPCSA), the South African Medical Association (SAMA), the South African Council for Educators (SACE) and the association for Kinderkineticists (SAPIK).

This workshop celebrates the immense importance of pregnancy, birth and the first 6 weeks. This is the most sensitive time to shape a child’s fundamental health and brain development.
During this 4-hour workshop, expectant parents and baby enthusiasts will learn how to make the most of the 5 important Bs in a baby’s life:
- Brain
- Birth
- Bonding
- Breastfeeding and
- Body Development
Other topics include – The microbiome, a sensitive caesarean section, skin-to-skin contact, supporting the premature baby in the NICU, baby massage, an effective decision-making model and so much more!
This is an informal and interactive classroom-style workshop. It includes theoretical and practical sessions and welcomes your questions. You will receive interactive class notes, refreshments and a certificate of completion.
This workshop is accredited for CPD points by the HPCSA/SAMA (4 CPD Points), SAPIK (6 CPD Points) and SACE (5 CPD Points).
Mom/dad and baby are welcome to join BabyGym 2 when baby is 6 weeks and older – This makes BabyGym 2 Firm Foundations ideal for the parent on maternity/paternity leave!
This programme includes a 1-hour class, once a week, for 5 consecutive weeks.
In only 5 weeks, you will learn to:
- Massage your baby from top to toe, to – Relax your baby, bond with your baby, stimulate the sense of touch and calm your baby’s nervous system.
- Awaken your baby’s senses according to the natural sequence of sensory development: touch, (the sense of) movement and balance, smell, taste, hearing and sight.
- Make tummy time fun, and strengthen your little one’s muscles so that when your baby is awake – they want to move!
- You will end the programme with the cutest BabyGym graduation ceremony imaginable.
BabyGym 2 equips your little one to move, explore, build strength and refine skills. BabyGym 2 is the best preparation for reaching those big motor milestones!
This is an informal and interactive programme. Parents and babies are seated on the floor throughout – it is best to dress comfortably. The classes include theoretical and practical sessions and welcomes your questions. You will receive class notes and a certificate of completion.
On completion of BabyGym 2 Firm Foundations your baby will be ready to progress to BabyGym 3 Milestone Classes. BabyGym 3 classes are attended as baby nears the relevant milestone:
- Sitting
- Crawling
- Standing, Cruising and Walking
Milestone classes are informal and interactive sessions. Parents and babies are seated on the floor – it is best to dress comfortably. The classes include theoretical and practical sessions and welcomes your questions. You will receive class notes and a certificate of completion.
Friends of BabyGym Training teaches practical skills to optimise the first 14 months of life. The training follows the same curriculum as BabyGym 2 Firm Foundations, but it is offered as a 1-day training and is taught on dolls.
This adult learning opportunity is most suited to:
- Preschool teachers
- Caretakers, guardians, organisers and volunteers at baby homes.
- Parents who cannot attend the 5-week course but want to learn the principles and activities in 1 day, on a doll.
- Families who are in the process of adoption.
This is an informal and interactive programme. Participants are seated on the floor throughout – it is best to dress comfortably. The classes include theoretical and practical sessions and welcomes questions. Participants will receive class notes, refreshments and a certificate of completion.
Play Learn Grow workshops were developed by the founder and author of BabyGym, Dr Melodie de Jager. These workshops are ideal for parents, educators and therapists of babies and toddlers 0 – 3 years.
During this 6-hour workshop, we take an in-depth look at baby and toddler milestones and draw fascinating links between milestones and a child’s readiness for formal learning at 6 years of age. For example, “Why the fuss about crawling and how does this brain-boosting milestone impact school readiness at 6 years of age?”.
This is a theoretical, informal and interactive classroom-style workshop. We welcome your questions! Included is your copy of the book Play Learn Grow (Birth to 3), refreshments and a certificate of completion.
